News of Hope
Most of the news, we are bombarded with, focuses on shadow aspects of our human experience. Round the clock coverage of the latest tragedy; violent deaths; hate-filled crimes; loss and destruction are only a few of the topics that comprise our modern newscast.
Millions of people choose not to listen to the news at all because they know that this fascination with pain and suffering is not beneficial to their own sense of well being.
Personally, I believe the news is, by design, intended to make people worry. By keeping their viewers insecure, the media knows its sponsors can sell more of their products.
Usually, on each newscast, unless there is just too much doom and gloom to report, the media likes to throw in one human interest or otherwise touching report, for balance.
I do not think one small sound bite about the brighter aspects of life is enough to balance all the hatred and devastation constantly assaulting our brains.
So, I am offering News of Hope. This will begin as a weekly or monthly newsletter which will highlight a few stories which concentrate on generosity and kindness. As opposed to news which is designed to lead its listeners into fear, this news is aimed at encouraging each of us to have faith in the overall goodness of humankind.
What might one find in this newsletter?
Just about anything that causes me to feel more hopeful, when I read it. There will be stories of people following their hearts, people who have overcome illnesses and other challenges, innovative technologies which promise to help our planet, and other stories and events which support a belief that the world is becoming a better place.
So, if this sounds interesting give it a try. As always, you will be able to unsubscribe easily if you decide this is not for you.
