What Do You Love?

I opened a writing assignment book and read the instructions: “Imagine you are in solitary confinement, for one day. What tools have you brought with you? What do you Love?”

I am paraphrasing. I do not remember the exact words.

It is the impact of the words that I am thinking about.

What Do I Love? What do I carry with me into any and every situation?

I remember reading about a student who kept asking his master “How do I find God.” Every day the student had the same question.

One day the master and student were bathing in the river and the master held the student’s head under the water.

He continued to hold as the student kicked and jerked trying to get free from the master’s grasp.

The next day the master asked the student, “Why did you struggle so, when I held your head under water?”

“Because I wanted to breathe” was the response.

“Why did you want to breathe?” continued the master.

“Because I love life” the student replied.

“When you Love God as much as you love life, you will find God.” The master taught.

It is the same with peace. When I love peace so much, that I carry it with me everywhere, it will be my perpetual reality.
