It's All About Loving
I sat at a meeting, the other night.
This group was attacked, in a sneaky way, by a couple of members of this small community.
In particular, this verbal assault was aimed at the leader of this governing group.
As misconstrued fact after unsubstantiated innuendo was spouted, in a most vitriolic tone, I sat and watched the reactions of all the participants.
I felt myself squirming in my chair. I wanted to shout, “You do not know what you are talking about.” to the attackers.
I sat and observed, instead.
I watched as the person being attacked sat quietly and allowed these complainants to voice their concerns.
I could feel that he too had a desire to set the attackers straight.
He did not.
He sat stoically, through the ranting and raving, and calmly thanked them for coming.
Wow! What a display of loving restraint. I probably would have cut them off at the first flawed premise, from which they had constructed their entire appeal.
Not this man. He sat quietly, and sent these people love.
I have so much to learn. I am so thankful that I have willing teachers everywhere around me.
