Peace, An Inside Job
Peace is always a possibility.
The challenge is that we want to create peace from the outside in. We want the right conditions first, and then we will work on peace.
Those of us, who have tried that, know it is backwards. We must create the peace, on the inside first, in order to see it in the outer.
Consider this passage from “One Minute Wisdom” by Anthony DeMello:
To a disciple who was forever complaining about other people, the master said, “If it is peace you want, seek to change yourself, not other people. It is easier to protect your feet with slippers than to carpet the whole of the earth.”
Peace is always an inside job.
The outer only directs us to where we need to work next.
