Spiritual Cinema Night Report
My reflection for today is simply a report of our second Spiritual Cinema Night, which was last night.
We had 12 people in attendance.
We watched the movie Baraka. I wrote a review for this movie here.
I was led by spirit to show this movie. In fact, I purchased it just so I would have it for this meeting.
Personally, I find this movie amazing. I see new things in it every time I watch it. For some, however, it is not an easy movie to sit through. The director created it without dialogue to be a visual meditation on man’s diversity and his effect on the planet.
It was very different from the first Spiritual Cinema Night when we watched 5 short films and shared our perspectives.
This film calls for a little more soul searching. It reaches depths, within us, that may or may not be comfortable to us.
It was a very interesting night. Most enjoyed themselves, even though some did not care for the movie.
Our next Spiritual Cinema Night is tentatively set for December 8th. Because of the holidays, we will be combining November and December into this one session. We will revisit the format of watching 4 or 5 short films and sharing our thoughts.
If you have any interest in attending, please mark this date on your calendar. Feel free to bring a friend. Last night, we had popcorn, homemade cookies, sodas and water for refreshments.
The synergy created by a small group focused on Love is worth the trip, even if one does not care for the movie selection. Just being in the circle, at the end of the night, holds a blessing beyond words.
Many thanks to all of you who contributed to making this another special night.
