Since Halloween is Approaching
This site has over 10,000 reader submitted, ghost stories. They also maintain information on UFO's, Bigfoot, and other mysterious phenomenon.
This site also maintains a list of local paranormal research groups, just in case you need to talk with someone about a haunting and do not know where to turn.
Locally, or presumably somewhere near, this list highlighted "Kansas Ghost Hunters" but the link was bad, and "Seekers of the Unknown" which based on the email address, is here in Kansas City.
Apparently the site is run by Alan Reeves. Anyone know him?
Anyway, if you need any ghost stories, (all reported to be true) this Halloween, this looks like a good resource.
This is a great story on Anton Zeilinger, who may be the first physicist to give us teleportation. In fact, he already has that distinct title. So far, it has only been a light photon, but that is pretty amazing. To be teleported from one place to another without passing through any of the "in between" stuff is remarkable.
I will be keeping my eye on this guy.
From the article:
In contrast to many other physicists, Zeilinger has a keen interest in the philosophical implications of his work. As he says: "Scepticism is the only road to new knowledge." This approach prompts him to question everything, including the nature of matter and energy. He believes that the world we see around us may mask a more fundamental layer of reality: information. Indeed, information - not matter or energy - may be "the ultimate reality of the universe". If he is right, then it is likely that quantum mechanics, the most successful science of the 20th century, will be superseded in the 21st century by a new science of information. It is too early to say exactly what technologies will emerge, but they are sure to be fascinating.
If you read this link, imagine the implications of teleporting the information which is the basis of a new, healthy cell, to a cancerous one. The possibilities are endless.
