Not My Channel

In my travels, on the net, I was drawn to a site where audio files of many of my favorite metaphysicians are archived. I had received an email announcing one of the newly archived files, so I decided to listen.

This highlighted gentleman has been channeling a group of entities for years.

I knew I was in trouble when the announcer stated that these entities claimed to know everything. I did not let that statement deter me though. I listened on. Actually, the audio was playing in the background as I worked on other things.

For the first 30 minutes or so, the entities handled questions from the announcer with the usual non-committed, entity type answers. Somewhere I know there is a secret book on entity-speak which teaches channelers how to talk for hours without saying anything.

I learned that the government had not caused Katrina or the Tsunami; at least they had not done so on purpose. He revealed that they are fooling around with technology they do not fully understand, but it was never their intention to cause the natural disasters that have killed and injured so many. Phew, I was relieved to hear that.

Next, we shifted to people’s emailed questions.

First the entity handled one a listener had about their right livelihood. The answer, “Follow what you love, and invest your energy there.” Amazing, I thought.

I have often thought that if I could find that secret channeler’s guide to the universe, that I too could do this channeling thing.

The answer to the next question was the last I could sit through.

The listener asked a question about her health and the all-knowing entities informed her that she knew she needed to drink more water. If she did not, she would be developing cancer.

I was out of there. I felt that was an irresponsible response.

The man, doing the channeling, indicated, prior to the session, that he had over 2,000 audio tapes for sale, and another 1,000 that he was not comfortable releasing to the public. I suppose there is a big demand for this type of information, but I can not imagine why.

I also wonder what could be on the “secret” audio sessions that are being withheld from the public’s eye. It must really be some good stuff.

I realized early in my metaphysical walk that just because someone could channel did not mean that the supposed entity was any more enlightened than the rest of us.

I know that many are fascinated by the information channelers offer. We all hunger for some piece of information that we do not think we possess.

As entertainment, I find some channeling fun. As a serious source of applicable wisdom, I have not encountered any yet. It has been my experience that the greatest source of wisdom resides right inside of me. At least this is so, for me!

By the way, I do not mean to sound critical. If you find channeled information beneficial, I think that is great. I am speaking only for myself.
