Peace It's Worth It
Inner peace is a matter of being. It is not doing or having. These are things of the outer.
Even the experience of happiness and sadness are indicators that I am not “being peace”.
Being peaceful is non-emotional. It is a quiet confidence. It is a knowing, of the truth, which may not be disrupted by any outer events or by my emotional reactions to these events.
I have heard some say, “Being peaceful sounds really boring.”
Having been truly “at-peace” a few times in my life, I can attest to the fact that there is nothing boring about it. It is, in fact, glorious.
It only takes one nano-second of being truly, at peace, to hook a person for life. Even the briefest glimpse into the possibilities which exist when we are totally aware of our oneness, forever alters one’s perception of what is real and what is illusion.
This is why we return to meditation. This is why we seek to identify and rid ourselves of emotion-backed addictions which do not serve us. This is the pot of gold which truly is at the end of the rainbow.
