I Can Do It Again, and Again

Can you remember a day when everything in your life felt just perfect?

If you have ever had ONE such day, you may have as many more as you choose.

Think back to that day.

Was it something in the outer which gave you some type of magical permission to enjoy that beautiful circumstance, or was it a mindset; a decision that defined the perfect day.

Granted, there may have been physical elements you remember in conjunction with that ideal event. For example, a beautiful sunset, a breathtaking mountain, or maybe the gentle rolling of the sea, but were these physical attributes the cause of your peaceful day, or did they just contribute?

I have seen people try to recreate an experience of a perfect day. Oftentimes, duplicating events down to the minutest detail, yet later reporting that it was just not as outstanding as the idealized day. “Nothing is ever as good the second time,” is the cliché attached to this attempt.

The truth is the peaceful experience of the ideal day comes from the inside out and not from the outside in. Re-creation of the physical aspects of your remembered “perfect” day will not insure another awe-filled occasion.

Re-create the feelings that defined your emotional response, to that remembered day, and you can experience bliss in the midst of even a stressful situation. Cultivate your ability to recall that feeling of “being in love”, or that “knowingness that you are safe and protected by a benevolent universe”, and you have uncovered a major secret to living in peace.

Blessings,
